#1 Trucking MagazineTruckers News, the #1 leading lifestyle magazine for over the road truck drivers, features the iPhone Trucker Application in their June, 2009 issueTruckers news is the official publication of the National Association of Truck Stop Operators (NATSO).

Senior Editor Todd Dills provides a full page story about our Truth About Trucking, Ask The Trucker blog and the first ever iPhone application for truckers.  It was also mentioned in the May issue as well as the June edition of Overdrive Magazine which primarily focuses on commercial truck owner-operators, small fleet owners and company drivers.

Allen Smith is a 37 year veteran who started at an early age in a household goods family moving business. He began driving straight trucks in 1977 and moved to the big rigs in 1982. His experience within the industry includes; owner operator, company driver, operations manager, and owner of a long distance HHG moving business, taking many of the long haul moves himself when needed. Allen Smith, a truck driver advocate who is driven by the desire to help others succeed within an industry where injustice, unrewarded sacrifice, and lack of respect and recognition exists. Allen and his wife Donna are hosts of Truth About Trucking ”Live” on Blog Talk Radio. Other websites include AskTheTrucker, TruckingSocialMedia, NorthAmericanTruckingALerts, TruthAboutTrucking, and many Social Media websites. In 2011 Allen and Donna hosted the first Truck Driver Social Media Convention, designed to create unity and solutions for the trucking industry. This is now being extended through the North American Trucking Alerts network as those within the industry join forces for the betterment of the industry. Allen strongly supports other industry advocates who are also stepping up to the plate to help those who share honesty, guidance and direction. He believes that all those involved in trucking need to be accountable for their part within the industry, including drivers, carriers, brokers, shippers, receivers, etc… The list of supporters and likeminded people grow daily, networking together and sharing thoughts and ideas for the betterment of trucking. He has coined the popular phrase "Raising the standards of the trucking industry"

    i’ve been out of trucking for 15 years, and I was disabled for part of that time, now I’ve been certified physically, current physical is up to date, complete clean bill of health is restored, I want to go back out as a truck driver, but, even on the level of EXPERIENCE i HAVE THEY STILL WON’T HIRE ME UNLESS i HAVE RECENT OVER-THE-ROAD EXPERIENCE, YOU MEAN THEY WOULD RATHER HIRE SOMEBODY GREEN AS OPPOSED TO SOMEBODY THAT HAS THE EXPERIENCE, 723 APPLICATIONS i’VE PUT OUT AND NOT A ONE HAS MADE ME AN OFFER TO COME WORK FOR THEM, TELLING ME THAT i WAS TOO OLD SAID ONE COMPANY, USA TRUCK, BOY THEY GOT SOME NERVE, SEEKING LEGAL COUNCIL ON THEM, THEN ANOTHER SAID i DON’T HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE, AND THEY ARE ADVERTISING FOR ANYBODY WITH SIX MONTHS EXPERIENCE TO COME WORK FOR THEM, I HAVE 4 YEARS EXPERIENCE, ADMITTEDLY THE COMPANIES I WORKED FOR ARE OUT OF BUSINESS BUT STILL THERE ARE WAS TO FIND OUT MY EXPERIENCE, I DON’T THINK SCHOOLING – AGAIN – IS GOING TO TEACH ME ANYTHING NEW, i’M CURRENT WITH EVERYTHING THAT HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS, STILL DRIVE JUST AS GOOD TOO, DRIVE FOR MY BUDDIES ONCE IN A WHILE, DO THE LOGGING, AND YES, EVEN CROSS THE SCALES, NO TICKETS OF ANY KIND, NO ACCIDENTS, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO, DROP DEAD, IF I DON’T GET SOMETHING GOING PRETTY SOON, I WILL, FROM LACK OF FOOD
